LOW WATER PRESSURE WILL OCCUR
COMPLETE WATER SHUT-OFF MAY OCCUR
It is possible that a boil water notice may be issued once the repair is complete and water service/pressure is restored. If a boil water notice is issued, an updated notification will be delivered to your residence.
Once the repair is completed, it may be necessary to flush all your faucets and outdoor hose bibs for 20–30 minutes to clear any air or sediment from your water. If this does not resolve after 30 minutes, please contact City Hall at (530) 832-4216.
CONSUMER ALERT DURING WATER OUTAGES OR PERIOD OF LOW PRESSURE
• If you experience water outages or low pressure, immediately stop any non-essential water use, including outdoor irrigation. Reducing use helps prevent further outages or pressure loss.
• If the water looks cloudy or dirty, do not drink it. Once normal service returns, flush your hot and cold-water lines until the water runs clear.
• If you are concerned about water quality, you may add eight drops of plain, unscented household bleach per gallon of water and let it sit for 30 minutes, or boil water for one minute at a rolling boil before use.
• Home treatment devices do not guarantee water is safe after low-pressure situations.
• Do not be alarmed by a stronger chlorine smell. The State Water Resources Control Board advises increased chlorine levels in areas affected by low pressure or outages.
• The State Water Resources Control Board also requires increased water quality monitoring in affected areas, which may include sampling near you to confirm the water remains safe. You will be notified promptly if any issue is found.
• The City is committed to providing clean, safe drinking water. Please share this notice with your household so everyone is prepared for possible outages or low pressure.
